Feature Video Friday: Retro Revolution

July 27, 2012

I have always loved funny movies, as if you couldn’t tell, and Gene Wilder was in a couple of them.  This video was one I’ve been waiting to see for a few years, and someone has posted it on YouTube.  I hope you enjoy the movie, I certainly did.  It’s called “Start the Revolution Without Me.”

New Video: Breaking the Rules

May 14, 2012

In this video, I’m going back to the series on creativity.

This time I discuss breaking the rules in writing, and when it’s appropriate to use horrible grammar.

Save the arts!!!

May 6, 2012

There is a growing problem with schools taking away the arts programs.  This is a subject that I am very passionate about, mostly because of my own arts, and my mom’s side of the family is all about the arts.

The arts are the very basis for learning to communicate, and communication is how we learn to relate to one another.

Maker Studios, on Youtube, has put together this ad to promote the website called, which is dedicated to saving the arts in schools.  If you believe in the arts, and want to help out, it’s a great site to visit.

Now here is the video they did.

Water on the Rocks

March 28, 2012

Maine is known for it’s lobster, blueberries, and having the longest rocky coastline in the US.  I took this picture to represent that.

Day 87: The Pool

March 26, 2012

The Pool

I stare into the pool

Into the world of reflections

And find the face staring back

May not be my own.

Day 85: Reach the Sky

March 22, 2012

Reach the Sky

Even if it takes

Most of my life,

I must continue

Feeding my mind

And stretching my imagination

If I wish to reach the sky.

Day 81: Listen to the Young

March 16, 2012

Listen to the Young

They should be seen and not heard

Is a saying that is out dated,

They can give us fresh thoughts,

But only when stated.

When properly encouraged

Their creativity can flourish,

By listening to the young

Their minds can be nourished.

I appreciate all of you who have been liking these poems.

If you want to see an explanation of any of them, go to

Day 76: Punish the Innocent

March 10, 2012

Punish the Innocent

Why do you run to the left

When the thief runs to the right,

Why do you blame the child

When the parent taught them how last night,

Why do you punch the writer

When they didn’t want to fight,

And why do you punish the innocent

While the guilty runs free;

What gives you the right.
