Photo Friday: Comfort and Style

February 10, 2017

Today’s Picture is another school assignment.  I was to shoot a pair of shoes to show texture, and focus on the style of it.  Himalayan cats are considered a symbol of style, so that’s why he’s in there,  that, and I couldn’t get him out of the picture.

First Look Photo: Contrast of Fall

November 16, 2016

Every year nature puts on a show, with the leaves changing color.  Many of the tourists of Summer will stick around just to watch the leaves change in Fall.  It’s also the time for photographers to get amazing landscapes.  I personally love the contrasts the leaf change brings out.

Today’s picture is one of those “contrast” pictures.  I love how the brightly colored leaves are in direct opposition to the colorless texture of the fallen tree trunk.  I feel this contrast adds drama to an uneventful picture of a tree trunk.

Photo Friday: A Touch of Color

October 21, 2016

Overall, this year’s color changing season has been anticlimactic, but individual trees have had brilliant changes.  In today’s shot, I wanted to show the texture of the tree, and fence, with a little of that brilliant fall color.

Photo Friday: No Better Artist

February 6, 2015

One of the reasons; and I can say the main reason, I chose nature photography is that I have never seen a painting, sculpture, or the work of any artist that can come close to the beauty nature has given us.  Today’s photographs were taken at the marina behind our home.

During this time of the year, ice forms on the water, and with the rising and lowering of the tides, the ice breaks, and refreezes in very interesting patterns.  These patterns show a beautiful display of texture.

Here then are the two photographs I took this afternoon.
