The beautiful thing about sunsets is that no two sunsets are ever the same.

Photo Friday: Another Portland Sunset

Photo Friday: City Lights
December 9, 2016In this challenge, I wanted to photograph city lights in a different way. Most of the photographs I see has a pretty solid skyline, so I thought I would break that up with the mostly dark condos in the middle ground. I included the condo with all the lights on to add a little balance to the overall image.
Keeping in mind these challenges are not all about the camera, this shot was taken on my little point and shoot, while on a trip to the grocery store.
Photo Friday: Cityscape Sunset
August 26, 2016I know sunset pictures are regarded as cliché, but there’s a reason for that. You can have two people stand two miles apart, taking a shot at the same moment, and get two very different sunset shots. No two sunsets are exactly the same, especially when you add in the element of clouds.
I decided to embrace the cliché with today’s photo. It was taken off my balcony, with the Portland skyline, and the sun right behind it.
Photo Friday, On Thursday
January 22, 2015Starting tomorrow, I was planning on starting something called Photo Friday. Unfortunately, we will not have the internet starting tonight, for a few days, so I have chosen a picture I took last summer that I thought you would all like, of the Portland, Maine skyline with queen anne’s lace in the foreground, during sunset. I hope you enjoy. I hope to be back online shortly.
Day 65: Losing Detail
February 27, 2012Day 64: The Drama of Clouds
February 26, 2012
Many people would say they’re boring,
I call them exciting,
Many people would call them sad,
I call them fun,
Many say they look dead,
I say without them we couldn’t have life.
Without them we don’t
Have rain or snow,
And no matter how many times you look at them
You will never see the same one twice.
Without them,
We wouldn’t have vibrant lightning storms,
This is why I say
When you see clouds approaching
Don’t be depressed,
Appreciate the drama unfolding before you.
