August 11, 2017

I am always amazed by something so small, becoming something so large; just like how these small acorns with their potential to become a beautiful tree.

First Look Photo: Seeds

November 9, 2016

The election is finally over, and like it or not, Trump won.  However we look at the situation, it is history now.  Regardless of this election, or any other situation in our lives, we hold the key to our own individual futures.

Today’s picture is not about the election results, or things happening in other parts of the world.  Today is a visual reminder that we contain our own seeds of the future, and it’s up to us to plant them where we need.

Photo Friday:The Seeds of Beauty

May 13, 2016

This week I’ve been watching videos of National Geographic photographer, Dewitt Jones.  In them he talks about finding multiple right answers to any problem. He also talked about the fact that National Geographic will sift through 14,000 photographs to find thirty photos used in one article.  With that much dedication to finding the best of the best, it’s no wonder they are the top.

I’m not a National Geographic photographer, yet, but today’s photo stood out from many photographs, and I couldn’t resist giving it the top spot of the week.

Day 71: All the Same

March 5, 2012

All the Same

One is for protection,

The other carries the seed;

One provides shelter,

The other provides food;

They both have

Very different purposes,

But they are both

Part of the same plant,

And  that makes them

Both of equal value.

Day 44: Anticipated Harvest

February 6, 2012

Anticipated Harvest

I spend my days

Tending the soil.

I sow the seeds

In anticipation

Of a harvest that will feed thousands.

Then,

When my days are done

I will become a part

Of the soil that I worked

So hard to tend.
