First Look Photo: You Can’t See Me

August 2, 2017

I love the way nature camouflages animals, like this little toad trying to hide from me on the path.

Photo Friday: Adding Drama with Clouds

May 1, 2015

Today’s picture is devoted to clouds.  Clouds can add drama, mood, and can help lead your eyes in a certain direction.  It can make an ordinary picture unique, and no matter how many times you take the same subject, you will never get the same picture thanks to clouds.  So, if you’re the type who waits for a sunny day to take out the camera, don’t.  You’ll get more interesting shots if you just include clouds.

Day 59: Through the wall

February 21, 2012

Through the Wall

I see a garden

At the end of a stone path

And I long to breath in

The aroma of those enticing flowers;

But no matter how many times

I circle the surrounding wall

I find no entrance.

Day 17: Should Would Could

January 10, 2012

Should Would Could

I should have pursued baseball

I would have been good

Hitting the ball out of the park

I could have been the hometown hero

I should have been in that movie,

I would have had the perfect role for me

That showed millions how good an actor I am,

I could have been a Hollywood Legend.

I should have worked on that train,

I would have become the owner some day,

And used it in movies and train shows,

I could have taught thousands the importance of trains in history.

I don’t play baseball

I’m not a Hollywood actor

I don’t own my own train

Those aren’t the paths I chose

I went down the only

Path that mattered,

I went down the path

That led me to you.

Day 15: The path

January 8, 2012

The path

Life is a stone path

Through a flower garden.

As you walk, you will see

Many beautiful flowers.

You are so taken in by the beauty

That you don’t notice the weeds

Between the stones,

And you stumble only

To pick yourself up and continue.

You stumble many more times

Before you learn to watch

The path as you walk,

And then stop to look at the flowers.
