First Look Photo: Painted Sky
May 16, 2018Photo Friday: I got a frog in my lens
June 12, 2015The first full week of every June, I take my vacations from my full time job, so I can do my photography work. One of the places I frequent, for some of the best nature shots, is a place called Hinkley Park. This year, I decided to use my nature lens to get close-ups of turtles, since they are numerous, and pretty. My fascination with turtles stems from the shell, which is a spinal chord, pelvis, and ribcage rolled into one unit, making turtles, and tortoises some of the only species’ with both an endo, and exo-skeleton.
As I got to the upper pond, I could hear the green frogs, and bull frogs croaking, so I figured, why not start with them. I set my lens to 900 mm, and was immediately welcomed to a frog staring directly at my lens. It was a breezy day, so I took extra pictures to get the clear ones I’m showing now. I hope you enjoy them.
Of course, the whole purpose was the turtles, so here are a couple I shot.
Baby Turtle!!!
June 21, 2012this is a picture I took at Hinkley Park the other day. This was my third pass over the bridge, (I’ll supply the picture of that as well.) and looking into the water, I saw the cutest baby turtle at just under 3 inches around. The baby is an Eastern Painted Turtle, which are common in this area. I’ve seen a lot of the turtles, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen a baby.
Now here’s the bridge.
