First Look Photo: Unbearable Cuteness

July 19, 2017

We have a few chipmunks living in the rocks in the gazeebo out side our building.  I found this one watching me come home from work.

First Look Photo: Fairy Home

October 12, 2016

Mackworth Island is home to some great views, a blind school, and apparently fairies.  There is a section of the woods with a sign asking the visitors to construct homes for resident fairies out of the natural materials found on the island.  There are little shelters everywhere, and some of them are cute, like today’s picture.

Photo Friday: Safe!

May 27, 2016

This week I took the first three pictures for my classes with the New York Institute of Photography.  I won’t go into details what the assignment is, but one of the shots was to involve action.

The action shot I chose, I took while watching a softball tournament, and it came out better than I expected.

It is for this reason I decided to make it my Friday photo.  When you look at this photo keep in mind that this shot beat out 182 other photos.

Day 75: Voices of the Past

March 9, 2012

Voices of the Past

When words won’t come

And I need inspiration fast,

My heart opens its ears

To voices of the past.

Day 27: Safely Home

January 20, 2012

Safely Home

Sailing through the sea of life

When the weather gets rough,

It’s easy to get off course

And lose sight of land.

At times like these

It’s nice to know

We have a beacon

To guide us safely home.

Day 24: Home

January 17, 2012

It’s not in the bricks of your house,

That’s just where you sleep.

You can’t find it

In the city where you live,

Or in the country of your birth.

It’s not something physical

That can be destroyed

By fire or flood.

Home is in the heart

Where no one can take it from you.

Day 21: Welcome Home

January 14, 2012

Welcome Home

The cat bird sings a happy tune,

So foreign yet so familiar.

Welcome home, welcome home

He keeps saying,

To the place you are loved,

To a family that will love you,

To my heart where you

Will always be welcome.
