The last time I tried to photograph one of these nocturnal rabbits, I had to use flash which caused a horrible case of red eye.  This time, I was privileged to capture another rabbit in front of a lit sign, without cropping.

First Look Photo: Rarely Seen Animal

In Maine, it is said that people can live here their entire lives and never see a rabbit.  The reason for this is simple. Eastern cottontail rabbits, like foxes, are primarily nocturnal. On occasion one might be seen during the day, but that is an extremely rare occurrence.  I found this rabbit on my way into work the other night.

Sometimes, humid mornings bring out more than spider webs, and foggy lenses.  This particular morning, the humidity had left some water drops on the back of two Japanese beetles, which brought out the color on their wings.
