Day 13: The Tight Rope Trumpeter

Tight Rope Trumpeter

Growing up

They told you

It’s a waste of time,

You didn’t listen.

In high school

You practiced

Hard every day,

And you got better.

In college

You learned how

To walk a fine line,

And keep your balance.

Now you make

Others smile

Playing your trumpet,

While on a tight rope.

You succeed

Where others can’t

When you avoid those

Who expect you to fail.

I want to say thank you to all those who have been reading my poems, it means the world to me.

    Allen,
I made a mistake on that quote. No proof reading. (Sorry my fault)
    Should:
    “Love what you do, child;
Do what you love to do.”
